Three full days (and one workout!) just to switch out of ‘go-go-go’ mode. I lost half of the holiday before I could even start resting. 😢

This experience made me reflect: does a Mon-Fri work schedule ever facilitate a necessary reset for the nervous system to turn off the ‘fight or flight’?

Being a productive achiever feels good in the moment. I am managing to do it all and have it all covered. The limitation (or a superpower, depending on the angle) of the human body is that such a state can’t be held constantly. When a wind down is not prioritised consciously, the body ‘organizes’ it through physical exhaustion, illnesses, and burnout. The bodily sensations highlight the imbalance in ‘tension-relaxation’ modes.

Now I’m inviting you to reflect.

🐿️ Are you skilled at sensing your “squirrel-in-the-wheel” mode, and a present relaxed one?
⏰ Do you know how long you need to achieve a relaxed state?
✍ Do you have your own recipe to wind down?

I’d love to hear back. Is it just me who loses the first three days of a holiday?
